This wine originates from the Saint-Estephe AOC of Bordeaux and in his book Bordeaux, Robert M. Parker Jr. states that the wines of Saint-Estèphe "have the reputation of being the slowest to mature, and the toughest, most tannic wines." This has a deep black-purplish pour that is followed by a dark currant nose. Upon tasting, there are fine tannins to go along with the strong cherry fruit and oaky undertones. This is a medium bodied wine that has plenty of acidity that does better after a long decanting.
This wine tastes premature and suspect that beyond 2024 it will have matured and softened to something with much more character and complexity.
