To be honest I picked this up because it said Red Mountain on the label, the celebrated Washington AVA that is supposed to produce wine grapes that in turn produce wines that are bold and more structured than comparable AVAs. Plus I already like Hedges Estate Winery. Deep purple pour that is smooth, not too tannic with a slight fruity finish on the palate. I liked everything about this wine except for the finish. Its full-bodied, rounded and fruit heavy with slightly acidic leaning. This is a bordeaux type blend with 43% Merlot 23% Cabernet Sauvignon 17% Syrah 4% Cabernet Franc 7% Malbec 3% Petit Verdot 1% Souzao 1% Touriga 1% Tinta Cao. At this price point I would probably walk past this one and choose the Kirkland Cabernet Suscol Vineyard all day long.
