Kirkland Pinot Noir 2021

Pinot Noir from the Russian River Valley in Sonoma County and produced by Nancy Walker. A winemaker whose heritage stems from Geyser Peak, Clos du Bois and Grove Street Winery. This is a light red pour, light even for a Pinot Noir. The nose hints at blackberry and ripe cherry. At first taste it is very light, some cherry and pomegranate. It tastes very young, dry, medium acidity and very fruit forward. This needs to breath for a while and would probably taste better after an hour after the pour. James Suckling had given this wine 92pts for the 2019 vintage, not sure what happened for this 2021 vintage, We really wanted to enjoy this wine but alas the finish and subsequent tastings just could not fulfill our palate. There are a lot of much better Pinots that can be had for the same price point or a little more. We will have to pass on this bottle.
