By now I have a special affinity for Kirkland wines and gravitate towards any new label I see when I find it on my frequent trips to Costco. This one caught my eye and I was surprised and delighted to see that the wine maker was Charles Smth.
For a cabernet it pours lighter than expected, almost like a Pinot and is medium-light bodied. It drinks easily with softened tannins that is ready to drink now. Fruit forward with a hint of raspberries, I enjoyed drinking this and it reminded me of backyard bbqs and warm summer get togethers where this wine would pair well with almost anything you throw at it.
This is not a complex wine, it is made to satisfy everyday and it delivers on that in spades.
